In 1989, entrepreneur Katy Wallin launched the multifaceted entertainment production and casting company, MysticArt Pictures. Under the leadership of Katy Wallin, the company has become an innovative force in the entertainment industry. Wallin has a fierce commitment to creating projects that depict hope, meaning and important life messages. Her tenacious approach in believing that anything is possible lead to her successful completion of 700 hours of television programming and over 70 feature films and alternative television shows. Wallin has become an award-winning producer and has received national recognition for her contributions to the motion picture and television industry. She has been featured on Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Extra, MTV, Entertainment Weekly, People Magazine, LA Times, New York Times and featured in several other national television shows and publications.
Wallin produced award-winning and critically acclaimed independent film, Finder's Fee. The film stars legendary actor James Earl Jones, Oscar nominated actor Robert Forster, Erik Palladino, Matthew Lillard, and Ryan Reynolds. She partnered with writer/director Jeff Probst, host of the highly successful series Survivor. Finder's Fee was acquired and released by Lions Gate Entertainment.
Wallin has always had a passion for working on projects that promote positive family values and believes it is important to cherish classic, literary achievements through the film medium. She produced the time-honored classic, Where the Red Fern Grows. Where the Red Fern Grows is the fifth best selling paperback children's book of all time. The film stars rock musician Dave Matthews, Dabney Coleman, Ned Beatty, and Kris Kristofferson. Where the Red Fern Grows was released by Walt Disney Studios.
Wallin recently created and executive produced the real life romantic comedy Welcome to the Family for NBC. She partnered with media mogul Reveille Entertainment and Legendary comic Bernie Mac who served as the shows narrator.
In continuing her mission to both empower and transform individuals, Wallin's most recent passion project is being brought to life in 2008. She created and is executive producing Beauty Academy, an irreverently stylish and highly character driven series that will give woman across America the opportunity to build a beauty empire.
Over the years, Wallin has had extraordinary success casting some of America's most popular television shows for ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, HBO, MTV, WB and E! Entertainment. Wallin is known for being a true advocate of the performing arts community and has dedicated the last two decades building a global career development and resource center for artists and industry professionals called AIA Actor's Studio www.aiastudios.com. Wallin founded and created this studio space in which she encourages people to strive to realize their dreams and nurture individual's artistic talent.
In addition to serving as the Vice-President of the Casting Society of America, Wallin is an active member of organizations such as the Independent Feature Project West and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and cofounder of the Women's Image Network; a non-profit organization which offers development money to those who create projects for film and television which depict women in a more positive light.
